A curator of kitsch, Yael Bronner Rubin is a South African born Israeli artist based in Hong Kong. Rubin's work examines the collection of culture within her life, conveyed by her photographic collages that mix influential artifacts of her multi-background upbringing with uncertain environments. Through her art, she seeks to divulge this unique mix of confusion and comfort which comes with the living a transcultural life.
Rubin studied at Hamidrasha School of Art in Beit Berl and later obtained her MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Hong Kong. She has exhibited worldwide in Tel Aviv, Tel Hai, Bourgogne, Seattle, and Hong Kong, where she currently calls home.
Rubin lives in Sheung Wan with her husband and daughter and enjoys dancing, exploring temples, and collecting treasures from around the world.
